There are some weak spots in the movie, but I enjoyed it. I could really see a possible connection here between the death of Spock in ST2, with Spock putting his 'contra' in Bones' head, and Data putting his... well, data... in the memory of B4... and then having Data die. What that could lead to may never be seen, but the connection helped me enjoy the movie more.
Plus, the writers suggest that something will happen with the memories of Data in B4 when B4 starts singing. I thought this was a perfect ending to the movie, and I have to say, it gave me chills.
I probably enjoyed it because I'm such a Next Gen fan. I'm biased.

I agree with Aedilus. This movie had a lot of overtones from ST 2, but I still really enjoyed it. I felt it had a good plot, awesome CG(seeing the Enterprise crashing into another ship), but I really didn't like the fact that they KILLED DATA!!!! It still annoys me to this day. But on the filp side, I was overjoyed to see Riker and Troi finally tie the knot. I was really hoping for a better ending to the series, but all in all a good film. (8.5)

the problem with nemesis in the uk at least was that it was in competition with a lot of good films, i think two were james bond and the harry potter one, but im not sure. that had an impact on the ratings.

I mentioned on "THE NEXT STAR TREK MOVIE" that they did the same thing here in the US as they did in the UK. Harry Potter released the week end before ST:Nemesis, and and then on the week of LOTR: The Two Tower. Not a great plan for the release of the movie.

Just saw Nemesis on DVD last night. I have to admit enjoying it more that at the movies 3 years ago.
I agree with some comments regarding Stuart Baird on other forums based on the collection of deleted scenes on the DVD.
All the good Trek stuff was cut and we're were left with as much action as he could pack into 112mins.
Would it have killed Paramount to tack an extra 10 minutes into the movie?
2 scenes that should have been left in the movie. Spoilers ahead:
1) After the wedding scene, Picard and Data sit in the captain's Ready Room and talk about the passage of time and events in our lives that mark the passing of time. In particular, this scene should have been left in as it finally made me understand why Data did the most human thing of all, to sacrifice himself so his friends could live.
2) A beautiful scene to finish the movie with. The new First Officer joins the Enterprise. He is welcomed by having his legged pulled. Also, Picard tests the new Captains chair complete with seatbelts.
Picard then announces they will be surveying the Denab system. He said this should be interesting as 'we're going where no one has gone before'. Fade out.
Perfect ending.
Oh well.
Cheers
Al
