What's your opinion of this move... good or bad?

The beginning of this film was spectacular, but as the story went on it got worse and worse.
I would be completely happy if the beginning of this movie was inserted somewhere in another film (if it were possilble because I really do like the beginning) and the rest was just forgotten. If I hated any Star Trek movie, this would be the one.

I agree. The first part of the movie was great... the three amigo singing row, row, row your boat was awesome. And as for the rest of the movie, well, I blocked it out of my memory.

Oph, unnecessary harshness! ST:TFF wasn't that bad, people! Come on! Give some credit to Bill for his wonderful directing! And the cast, they were excellent also! And the scene where McCoy and Spock had to face their deepest pains. Oh, and don't forget the stronger comraderie that developed between Jim, Bones, and Spock toward the end.
Of course, the campfire scenes were my favorite (Chekov and Sulu getting lost, and making up the blizzard-bluff to Uhura was my second fave), but still, the rest op the movie wasn't complete Tribble turd!
8.5

I think that you are being quite illogical to say that this film was anything but(as wonsits put it) crap. Perhaps you need to go back and watch it again.

Logical Spock did have some good points to make. ST V did have a lot of character insight and whatnot, but beyond that... don't make me say it.
I do have to point out that Logical Spock is being ILLOGICAL in giving this movie an 8.5, but it's good to know that someone liked it. I just think that Star Trek can and SHOULD be so much better!

Major Vulcan Mode:
I have gone back and watched ST:TFF again, as Nathan has requested. I took note of all the situations, dialogue, and storyline that deeply perturbed and bothered me. I have come to the conclusion that there are more dislikes than features that please me in Star Treck V. I am sorry for my miscalculation in the rating, and admit it was bias, for I am a Shatner fan. I will not rate again, because I am afraid that I may still favor Bill as director, for he did quite a nice job. The only mistake was taking the movie straight from a weak screen play, and not altering it.
However, I do still prefer Mr. Nimoy as director. He knows much about the series and it's history.
I offer my humble apologies, and ask for forgiveness.

You don't have to apologize for your opinions, but if you do put forth opinions, be ready to take and accept critisism(sp?).
