Depressing all around except for Spock coming back from the dead. I've never really enjoyed this one much, but it was important to Star Trek.

I think that it was okay, and I agree that it was important to help with the story line. Kirk dealing with his sons death was interesting to see, but overall it was merely okay. (6)

David dying was a bit of a shock to me, but it was awfully brave of him to do, and very much like what his father would have done.
Yes, it was sad that Spock was technically dead throughout most of the movie, but, hey, we still had Spock's catra in McCoy, right?
I enjoyed seeing Bones have to battle with "that green-blooded son of a b*tch" sharing his brain space for a while.
I'd give this movie a 7.0
