I believe there are a number of reasons: overexposure (of course), lack of ideas and innovation, mediocre writing, UPN not advertising, UPN moving the show to unusual times, UPN in general, and finally the stigma that is associated with Star Trek.

Agreed on almost all points. I really think that ST needs a new, fresh perspective, because it is still very.... I dunno. Hmmm

1. same old storys 2. constant time changing 3. some fans had seen the end of voyager and wanted no more. looks like this spread. 4. berman/braga vs the star trek cannon 5. $$$$ 6. ratings
NB. The decon chamber was a pathetic attempt to get ratings as well.

The decon chamber was a pathetic attempt to get ratings as well. What do you mean by reason #3? Is it that these fans loved Voyager and thought nothing could compare, or did they not like the finale for Voyager? ...or am I completely lost? The decon chamber had some nice moments... ;D I'm not going to diss it. Plus, there was always some element in every series to sex up star trek. Need I recite the references?

by #3, i mean that even before enterprise had started, fans were aware that it was a prequel, and some were against it. frankly, i dont know why, unless they were getting at #4. but anyway, so they happily watched the end of voyager and gradually drifted away. they werent too bothered about enterprise. thats what im getting at.
true, but not as much as there was in enterprise. how often was scotty wandering around the ship in his underwear?
please do ;D

true, but not as much as there was in enterprise. how often was scotty wandering around the ship in his underwear? He never walked around in his underwear, but we all know how great that would be! The original would never have been canceled if that happened!! j/j ;D Maybe I'll start a new thread discussing sex in star trek.
