What I find interesting is the fact that I was really excited about Neelix and Kes when I first saw the first episode of voyager. Needless to say, I was somewhat let down.

Ok, I can understand Neelix in most of his episodes he was pretty annoying... But there were a few where he was pretty good, I just can't remember them of the top of my head. And as for Kes, I didn't find anything wrong with her character, I enjoyed almost all of her episodes. But I voted for the doctor... Actually I voted along time ago.

There was just nothing to Kes, really. The race she with which she belonged and the way she left the crew of Voyager were the most interesting parts about her. Other than that, she was just an extremely understanding person... and somewhat nice to look at.

Are there really any Star Trek characters that are femlae that aren't nice to look at? Just kidding, no I would probably have to say for the most attractive female main character was in the Voyager crew and I believe that it was Janeway.

well coming from a female's perspective I think that Janeways' character showed a lot of prestigue and power. I think that is why I think that she is attractive. I mean for so long the roles of females were not to be Commanders or Captains and if they were it was either on another ship or for a couple of episodes (Best of Both Worlds). Even though it was great that Star Trek had always had women in the storylines it was just very powerful for a young girl to see that if she applied herself that she could become something great in the sciences on day. I know that in real life that happened beforehand, however seeing on television made a difference.

Agreed. Janeway was a strong female character, which seems to be lacking in any television show. She wasn't my favorite star trek captain, but it was a refreshing change and an interesting choice for the producers. I also think they selected a fine actress to portray her.

In the season one dvd of Voyager they show some screen tests with another woman as Captain Janeway. I do not know who she was but it is obvious that they made the right choice firing her and going with Kate Mulgrew.

Wow.. I didn't know that, thats weird seeing how she looks like Janeway so much.... It must have been a very specific role. And I agree that it was a great change having a female captain instead of a almost always serious male captain. But do I think she is the most good looking character in Voyager ? No, no I don't... I thought that Belanna was very pretty, and of corse when seven came, I was like... But I just stuck with Belanna.
